Screw-in nuts (also known as Rampa sockets) are used to make tight connections for metric screws or threaded rods in wood or wood-like materials. Our screw-in nuts are made of stainless steel V2A.

The internal thread of the inserts is a metric ISO standard thread according to DIN 13-1, the external thread is a wooden thread! The background to this is that the thread inserts cut into the material by themselves.

Unlike a wood screw, a screw-in nut has no point that can penetrate the wood. Pre-drilling is therefore essential. Make sure that the drill hole is as large as the core dimension of the screw-in nut. Further tips on use can be found under Things to know.

Things to know::
To use screw-in nuts correctly, the workpiece must be predrilled. Refer to the dimension table to find out how large the drill diameter must be. The drill hole depth should be about 2-3 mm longer than the insert so that it is flush with the material surface after screwing in, or if it is to sit deeper in the workpiece later, it must of course also be drilled deeper.

The screw-in nut must be screwed in straight, i.e. the core hole must be drilled at right angles to the component. This is best done with a drill stand. If you have an ordinary hand drill, you should use a drill stand if possible. It is difficult to screw in the sleeves accurately with a slotted screwdriver. This recess is primarily intended for disassembly.

For screwing in, you can use a threaded screw in the size of the internal thread. At best, two nuts should be used (the second is useful for countering, so that the first nut does not rotate when being screwed in). Then turn the screw on the opposite side of the slot into the threaded insert until the nuts rest on the upper end. Now the threaded insert can be threaded into the predrilled core hole and - depending on the screw used - screwed in with a wrench or screwdriver. Remove the screw again. Done.
